“Book Three in the Insanity Series by Andre Gonzalez did not disappoint. After finishing Book Two, The Burden, I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen to Jeremy. Wow! Definitely not what I expected.
I love the way Mr. Gonzalez writes. He tells you just enough to keep you interested and wanting for more. He makes you question why. Why different characters are behaving the way they are. Why did Jeremy truly do all that he did? What really were his reasons? I did not get the answers I wanted but I did get a great story.
If you have not read this series or anything by this author I highly recommend that you do so. You will not be disappointed in any way.”

Since I 'never' read horror I went out on the proverbial limb and tried this. It is a book that is short in length but filled with suspense, a plot that grabs you by the throat and shakes you, and characters who are truly evil. Something I'd think all lovers of horror will appreciate!

“The plotting of an experiment which would change the world. The main character (Jeremy) believed he found a way to experiment on a hypothesis he has about individuals with mental illness. He plots an intricate experiment to prove his point. A fast read which kept me intrigued throughout. I would recommend it to anyone who deals with mental illness and it's consequence to society.”

“For such a short story, there is so much packed in to every single page.

I will start this off by saying that I am, generally speaking, not very fond of science fiction. I find that a certain element of realism is necessary, for me, to really connect with a story and for it to be able to burrow its way into my soul and stick with me. Many science fiction novels are so far out there (often literally, out in space), that it's just too difficult for me to connect.

Andre Gonzalez has created a short story here that has utterly captivated me. By beginning the story with a working man who has dreams and aspirations, who works hard to build up a solid career and a loving relationship, the story immediately has a homey resonance to it. When aliens were introduced, I was already swept up in the character and easily followed into this foreign territory.

By the end of this short story - which I devoured in less than an hour - I was hoked on the concept and am eagerly looking forward to starting the parent book, "Followed Home."

I am a huge fan of Andre Gonzalez, and am excited to highly recommend this read along with his trilogy, the "Insanity" series.”

“Never read this author because I believe this is his first book but I will keep my eyes open for his future books since I did enjoy this book. It kept my interest to the very end. Even though there are some scenes in the book that are kind of gory you have to keep on reading just to see what will happen next. What would you do if you knew that there were other beings living among you that in some ways are more advanced in ways. Most of the characters are likable in the book and you feel for them when something happens.

The book has a little bit of everything in it sci-fi, suspense, psych and for that reason I am giving the book a 4.5 because it was really good.”

“I just completed reading a short story, A Poisoned Mind by Andre Gonzalez and it excellent! Engrossing. Cliff-Hanger! Read Ending Twice! I did not have the advantage as I am sure some by having read the pre-cursor to this book called Followed Home. I’m sure that provided background context. However, it was the dialogue and the two main characters that constructed this novella. The ending I did not see coming, period. It was only several sentences that was needed given all that proceeded to be thunderstruck. “…Colonel Griffins sat down in the old, wooden chair and closed his eyes. They’re here and this time is going to be bad. A tear rolled down his cheek as the shock of his encounter started to wear off…” I am hopeful for a third book, a continuation of the novella. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND A Poisoned Mind.”

“Insanity:

The opening of the book made me want to find out what led Jeremy to carry out such a horrific crime. The excellent and detailed writing allowed easy access into Jeremy's thoughts and feelings. I especially loved Jeremy's notebook which was written in cursive because it made the story even more visceral and realistic. I look forward to reading more books in this series!

The Burden:

This runaway freight train of a novel drew me in right away. I really enjoyed going behind the scenes of Jeremy's trial because as a reader I was able to delve not only into Jeremy's thoughts but also those of other key players in his trial. I highly anticipate the final chapter in Jeremy's story!

Replicate:

A fitting end to an excellent series! There were a few surprises that I wasn't expecting which was nice. Jeremy's inner thoughts in this final book were especially chilling because it was much more a dialogue than in previous books. I am sad to see the series at its end but am looking forward to reading more by this author!”
