Stephen Wertzbaugher

Stephen Wertzbaugher grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, where he developed an obsession with everything creepy and crawly, forcing his mom to always check his pants pockets and the bathtub for any new friends he may have brought home. While working as a sterilization microbiologist in the medical device industry, people often asked what he did. Stephen replied, “I practice genocide. And I’m the best at what I do.” And though he knows better, he still can’t go to sleep without making sure the closet doors are closed and there’s nothing hiding under the bed.

Stephen currently lives in Denver, Colorado, with his wife of forty years, where he enjoys spending time with his three adult children, two grandchildren, and spinning suspenseful tales that force people to chew on their worst fears, including his own.
