Great continuation of the first book. The storyline gets a little more complex and got a little harder to follow than part one, but still held me either reading it, or thinking about reading it.
I think Alma and Mathias are awesome characters and would love to read more about what they’ve got up to for the last thousand or so years.
Curious as to Axazels main goal is for the book three though. Looking forward to it.

The Wheel of Fate and Fury is the second book in the Wheel of Blood and Magic series. This dark fantasy story features horror elements as well as vampires, witches, and time travel. Things will get chaotic with a hole torn between realms and monsters on the loose! The detailed descriptions of the scenes will play out in your head like a movie.

An excellent continuation to Wheel of Blood and Magic. A dark fantasy filled with witches, vampires and time travel, woven around Alma and Mathias’s eternal love for each other and a split in the realm to demons.

In book 2 the story continues and we get to see all our favorite witches and vampires and add in a sprinkle of Demons into the mix as well in this book.

Some things I enjoyed
– a little recap is thrown throughout the story and this helps you remember where you left off, so if you don’t read these books back to back this will remind you where the story left off, but it may feel a bit repetitive if you read them one after another.
– The story incept itself is very interesting, there are parts that are explained really well so you can almost see it playing out in your head
– The relationships in this book are interesting to watch unfold, not just romantically either, even just between the sisters and the witches.

This book also does not time jump as much like the first book, so it’s a little easier to follow the story line.

The are times it is a little too descriptive, I’d call it wordy maybe, or over explained. Sometimes it’s okay to let the imagination of the reader take over, but the first 20-30% was almost a little detail heavy, but once I got into the meat of the story I ate it up.

Looking forward to book 3 and seeing where Martha and Ravens stories go especially!

I loved how Pevear expanded the world introduced in the first book while also upping the stakes. I enjoyed gaining new insight into Mathias and Alma and their relationship. I had a blast reading this story and I can’t wait to read the final book in this exciting dark fantasy series!
